Klarna: Why is two-factor authentication required for each account refresh?

Due to technical changes on Klarna's side, the two-factor authentication is required for each account refresh through the Outbank app.

As a workaround, you can exclude your Klarna account from automatic account refresh:

  • In the iOS version: 'Settings' > 'Refresh Accounts' >  'Include in Overall Refresh:  Deactivate switcher next to Klarna account '
  • In the Android  version: 'Settings' > 'Include in Overall Refresh:  Deactivate switcher next to Klarna account'
  • In the macOS version:  'Settings' > 'General' > 'Refresh Accounts' > 'Include in Overall Refresh: remove checkmark from account.

This will prevent your Klarna account from being automatically updated, reducing the frequency of two-factor authentication requests.

Of course, you can still manually update the account whenever you have time for two-factor authentication.
