How do the Outbank Widgets work on my iPhone / iPad?

With the Outbank Widgets you can easily access your account balances, budgets, and savings goals right from your home screen, lock screen, or from the Today view. The widgets provide you with a quick overview of all your essential financial information at a glance. 

Adding Accounts, Budgets, and Savings Goals to the Widgets: 

  1. To activate the Outbank Widgets, you'll need to grant access to the data in the app's settings. 
  2. Open the 'Settings' in Outbank. 
  3. Select 'Widgets & Focus Filters.' 
  4. Add the accounts, budgets, and savings goals you want to display in the widgets.

Afterward, you can add Outbank Widgets to your Home Screen: 

  1. Long-press on a widget or an empty space on your Home Screen until the apps start to jiggle. 
  2. Tap the 'Add' button in the top left corner (gray + symbol). 
  3. Scroll down in the suggested apps list and select Outbank. 
  4. Swipe left or right between the Outbank Widgets to choose the widget type (balance/budget/savings goal) and size you prefer, then tap "Add Widget." 
  5. Tap "Done" in the top right corner or simply tap on your home screen to exit edit mode. 

If you'd like to an Outbank Widget to the Today View, follow these steps: 

  1. Swipe right from your Home or Lock Screen to open the Today View. 
  2. Long-press on a widget or an empty area in Today View until the widgets start to jiggle. 
  3. Tap the 'Add' button in the top left corner (gray + symbol). 
  4. Scroll down in the suggested apps list and select Outbank. 
  5. Swipe left or right between the Outbank Widgets to choose the widget type (balance/budget/savings goal) and the widget size, then tap "Add Widget." 
  6. Tap "Done" in the top right corner or simply tap on your home screen to exit edit mode. 

Starting from iOS 16, you can also add Outbank Widgets to your lock screen: 

  1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen until the 'Customize' button appears, then tap on it. 
  2. Select the Lock Screen 
  3. Tap the area below the time to add widgets. 
  4. First, scroll down in the suggested apps list and select Outbank. 
  5. Then select the widget you want to add. Arrange the widgets as desired. 
  6. When you're finished, tap "Close" and then "Done."  

You can choose up to 4 widgets for this widget area. If there's not enough space for a new widget, remove one to make room. 

Important Notes: 

- If you create widgets without granting access to your accounts, budgets, or savings goals in Outbank first, empty widgets will be added. You can tap on the empty widgets to open the app settings and grant access to your data.

- The widgets receive the data directly from the  app and cannot update accounts independently. If you have activated the background app refresh  for Outbank and your accounts are automatically refresh by Outbank in the background, the widgets also immediately display the updated balances.  

- Widgets are not synchronized across devices. You'll need to set up widgets separately on each of your iOS devices.  

Editing Outbank Widgets: 

You can edit your existing Outbank Widgets at any time. For example, when you switch bank accounts or remove outdated budgets and savings goals to show the most up-to-date information. 

  1. Open Outbank settings and got to "Widgets & Focus Filters." 
  2. Choose the widget you want to edit (Balances, Budgets, or Savings Goals). 
  3. Add the accounts, budgets, or savings goals you want to see in your widget or remove outdated items. 
  4. Easily change the order of displayed accounts, budgets, or savings goals by tapping on the bars at the end of the cells and dragging them to the desired position.

Deleting Outbank Widgets: 

  1. To remove an Outbank Widget, long-press the widget and tap Remove Widget' or tap on the minus icon in the top left corner. 
  2. Confirm the action by tapping "Remove".
